About Me
Hello and welcome to my website! I am Emily Green, a photographer in Cartersville, GA, who specializes in senior portrait photography.
Why senior portraits?
I decided that rather than doing many types of photography well, I wanted to focus on doing one type of photography with excellence. Senior portraits are my passion. I love helping to document this pivotal point in young adults' lives. They are looking back with certainty at what they have achieved to date and looking forward to all they hope for in the future. No matter what their plans are, whether they are entering the workforce, attending college or trade school, entering the military, or haven't quite figured out what their next steps might be, this is an exciting time. I always consider it an honor to create a visual snapshot of this moment in time that speaks directly to their individual personality and is cherished by themselves and their family for years to come.
Experience
I fell in love with photography at a young age. In my early twenties, I first took a darkroom class at Berry College, then became a full-time student at an advertising school in Atlanta. There I learned many professional techniques that took my skills beyond that of a hobbyist. I began entering online competitions which stretched my creativity tremendously. Eventually, I was given the role of Forum Moderator on the Digital Grin Photography Forum in charge of Challenges and Competitions. I was given the freedom to design the main competition, where I provided feedback on over 100 photographers' images every other week. Learning to assess the work of other creatives pushed my skills even further.
I have taken photographs professionally since 2006. My work has included newborns, children, families, engagement, prom, senior, band/musician promotion, product, and event photography. In early 2022, I decided to relaunch my photography business with a sole focus on my main passion - the senior portrait.
