Location Options
There are many location options available. Below is a list of popular locations that offer a variety of backdrops in a relaxed setting. I am always willing to discuss location ideas, including some options that are more unique and may charge entry fees.
Downtown Cartersville
Downtown Cartersville's historic charm and unique atmosphere offer a variety of backdrops for your senior photos. Shooting spots may include the old county courthouse, the fountain and Friendship Plaza, the old train depot, the exterior of the Booth Western Art Museum, and the world's first outdoor Coca-Cola advertisement.
Covered Bridge, Euharlee
Built in 1886, the Euharlee Covered Bridge is reminiscent of the era of horse-drawn carriages and small town general stores. Adjacent to the bridge is a park with a river that offers additional opportunities.
Berry College, Rome
Covering more than 27,000 acres, Berry College is the largest contiguous campus in the world. It has numerous excellent shooting spots that include the gothic-inspired Ford buildings, the Frost Memorial Chapel, the 42-foot wooden waterwheel (one of the largest in the world), and Possum Trot Church.
Berry College is very popular with photographers, and it is common to be working around other photographers. Careful planning during less popular times can assist with this, and Berry College is always worth the occasional small wait. Due to the extensive opportunities at Berry College, it is recommended for two-hour sessions.
Downtown Rome
Downtown Rome is another location that offers Southern charm with historic appeal. With tree-lined streets, eclectic shop fronts, beautiful churches, bridges spanning the river, and a clock tower that dates back to 1871, Downtown Rome is a great choice.
Red Top Mountain State Park
Red Top Mountain State Park is a gorgeous natural setting for senior portraits. Beautiful hiking trails, Allatoona Lake, and historic cabins all lend themselves well as complimentary backdrops.
The Green Property
The Green Property is my family home and therefore makes an ideal relaxed and private location. On the north end of Cartersville, this property offers 33 acres of beautiful farmland, wooded areas, and a 2-acre pond.
